I was conscious that in middle age I was starting to lose condition and aware there might be a future impact on my health and wellbeing. I had a lack of time, niggling and long term injuries that prevented any consistent training, and I was finding it hard to motivate myself. Getting older I'd found that fitting in long runs was not as easy as before. I wanted to try something that wouldn't take as long to do each week but would still help me keep fit and healthy. I have a bad knee and was losing muscle in that leg. Since training I've noticed the affected leg is a lot stronger. And the bad back that would flare up regularly hasn't really had a twinge. The discipline of having an appointment each week and someone to work with you helps you stay on track - you don't want to let them down!
